I am a happy flex 1500 and 3000 owner and have used the 1500 portable
with a laptop but would like to try it with the 3000 but no laptop with
firewire.
While looking around I found the mini ATX series of motherboards and the
12V DC power supplies and small cases on the mini-box and other sites. I
even found a 23" HP LED monitor that runs on 12V.
The only problem is I have never built a mini computer as such I don't
know how the best firewire card (likely a full size card) would fit in
one of these mini boxes. Then I thought wait someone else
with more computer savy than me has likely already done this and might
have a shopping list.
I know I could find a laptop with firewire but I don't want another
laptop and besides I would likely have to use an inverter to run it
portable for any length of time. Seems like direct 12V DC powered is the
way to go. Thoughts?
