I run my 5000, 3000, and 1500 for long periods of time at nearly full output all the time. When running continuous-carrier signals like Thor, Olivia, etc., I will run the 5000 and 3000 at 80W output for 10 minutes at a time. (I tend to be a bit long-winded in some QSOs. :-) I have never seen the PA temp go over 85C in my shack. No sweat. As I recall, Flex says that the PA should stay under 100C and the devices are rated for much higher than that. -- Brian Lloyd, WB6RQN/J79BPL 3191 Western Dr. Cameron Park, CA 95682 [email protected] +1.767.617.1365 (Dominica) +1.916.877.5067 (USA) _______________________________________________ Flexedge mailing list [email protected] http://mail.flex-radio.biz/mailman/listinfo/flexedge_flex-radio.biz This is the FlexRadio Systems e-mail Reflector called FlexEdge.
