I appreciate that software development costs money...

So just throwing a question out there.   If a subscription model was applied to 
PowerSDR after 2.4
or 2.5 is released would that not go some way to funding the on-going 
development of the software?
Great software is something that I  for one would be more than willing to pay 
for, and do with
other software packages I use on a regular basis.     

Perhaps branch it off from open source to be a commercial version that those 
who wish to pay for a
yearly update subscription - similar to SmartSDR?
