Robert,IMHO touch control works well on a small-ish screen when it's
close to you, and it's mounted horizontally. If you like to spread out
on a big-ish monitor, or multiple monitors, or any vertically-oriented
monitor, touch screen is an ergonomic nightmare. My neck hurt, my
shoulders knotted up, even my elbows got tennis-elbow when trying out a
touch screen in a normal desktop environment. I think that continuously
reaching for frequency control with my fat fingers on a streaked screen
would do me in.
Some of the techno-critics don't like Windows 8. John Devorak at
MarketWatch said most recently it's an "unmitigated disaster that could
decidedly hurt the company and its future." And he liked Vista. I'm
thinking I may want to wait for the dust to settle before moving to 8.
