Fred,
The large burst of white noise is not unique to the Atom.. I have seen it on three other PC including AMD dual cores..
I have been told that it is a 1500 firmware problem..

Good evening Al,

Can you define successfully? I personally have a dual core Atom 330 and a 1500 w/2GB of Ram. I was told by a fellow Ham that this system would be sufficient for the 1500, but I believe that it is NOT. I still have an issue where the 1500 will be going right along and suddenly, there is this HUGE burst of white noise that is almost defining. Simply turning off the 1500 and restarting it (no power off or restarting from scratch) cures this problem. But to answer 6your question, no I don't feel that I have been able to run with a dual core processor. I am looking to go to a quad core ie, AMD and not Intel. I have heard that the amd processor s are better than the Intels for this application..
