My 3000 arrived two days ago. It is on the air and working. With out of the box settings, audio reports were described as being muffled. I immediately started in with eq settings and fixed that by using the DVR function with a dummy load. Then I noticed that with drive at 100%, I was only getting about 40-60 watts out. I upped the mic gain(35) and checked the mixer levels (100%) as soon as I cracked the mic gain above 40, audio started to sound over driven and distorted and RF out only peaked at about 75 watts. I also noticed with the Heil mic, the mixer slider must be almost 90% or greater in order for the software to see any signal on the meters.
So my question is EQ settings aside (subjective, I know), does anyone have a Heil Proset 6 and could share their levels with me? I suspect I am off somewhere in the signal chain.
