Personally, I would not purchase any USB to Serial adapter that uses the
Prolific chipset. Their drivers are a pain to work with.
I would only use devices that utilize the FTDI chipset

I just saw this on one of the WX instruments sites I check.
Absolutely no experience with it and don't know if it uses the FTD chip
