There are a plethora of aftermarket applications which return various
flavours of the Windows Start Menu for those who dislike the metro
interface. The interface aside it is a lean, fast and stable OS. The
only blue screen I've had in many months was when a fan secretly died
and the system overheated. . . Under W8 I have been able to reduce
buffers and thus improve latency as well.
