Ernest,
You have to be right! Following the tiny sliver of hamdom that worries
about 70 wpm CW in 2013 just doesn't make any sense! And I would certainly
hope that those who want to attack me now do it off the reflector! Please
don't bother normal people with 50 plus CW WPM worries.

Jim,
Save your money, I used the Flex keyer and it worked for me.
An external keyer is not going to improve your sending or for that fact
anything else.
Take that extra money and have a beer or two!

Jim,
Give the 5K a try without an external keyer...the internal one works
great for me, although I am now letting the 5K gather dust as I use the
internal keyer on the 6700.

Subject: [Flexradio] External keyer recommendations for 5K ?
Haven't tinkered with CW much in the last 30 years or so, so I thought
I'd buy a paddle and see what comes of it.
I've read that hooking a paddle directly to the 5K can be a trying
experience, so can anyone recommend an external keyer that works well
between (for example) a Bencher paddle and the 5K?
I have other rigs that are probably more plug-and-play, but since I use
the 5K more than the rest combined, I'd like to give it a try first.
Thanks,
Jim N7CXI
