Does anyone have any experience with Xandros Linux? A friend who is
heavily involved with vhf/uhf EME is considering the purchase of the
SDR-1000 and wants to use it both with the PowerSDR console and with
Linrad. However, he has no experience w/ Linux and would prefer to spend
his time with radio work and not getting up to speed with a new
operating system.
I'm quite familiar with Red Hat Linux, and have version 8.x installed
here, but I have no experience with Xandros. I've read that it's
particularly well-suited to folks coming from a 'MS-Windows' OS, and
wonder if it might be a good choice for him, particularly because of
this 'package' deal from Wal*Mart, which looks like quite a buy:

Would the Linux SDR1000 code compile and run on Xandros?
