John

Well, I am really a newbie at operating the SDR, however I tried 3 methods,
straight parallel cable, USB Parallel and serial port. It was difficult to
tell the difference especially since I am not too adept at Iambic. I
actually felt that the serial was the most responsive, however, they all
worked pretty well. Going above 25 wpm, I was a bit shaky at the timing,
without practice and perhaps new weight settings. We really need a chart of
buffers/CW weight settings and ramp. In my speed range of 25 -35 wpm it is
very sweet. Will just take a little getting used to.

I did notice as someone else mentioned, and also Tony KB9YIG observed that
the recovery of the display was about 1-2 seconds and seemed to be related
to buffers. The audio, however appeard to come back immediately. I only had
about an hour to fool around once I learned that you must have PTT enabled
to send!!! (dumb period).

Eric - Is there an advantage to keying via a serial port versus the
connector on the back of the SDR?
