Charles, If you are having power fluctuations, the first thing to check is that the audio driving the hardware sounds correct. Try turning on the monitor (MON button on top left section of front panel). This will play the transmit audio through your speakers. Does it have audible glitches?
If so, then this is the source of your fluctuations. You can try moving the buffer sizes on the SetupForm -> Audio and -> DSP tabs to try to improve things. In general, set the VAC card to 512, set the regular card to 2048 and DSP to 2048. Make sure the Delta 44 is set to 512 DMA buffer size (on the Delta Control panel -> Hardware Settings tab -- pull this up from the lower right taskbar). If the audio sounds fine, then the power fluctuations are coming from the hardware itself (or the metering method). I'm not sure what in the hardware could cause this, but we can cross that bridge when we get there. Let us know what you find. The fluctuation can be described as 1 sec on and 0.1 sec zero power. Measured with external watt meter. On CW, when I go to TX on Mix, the SDR-1000 goes key down.
