This is a technology I don't fully understand, but I can report that for the SDR, hubs (at least the external kind) simply don't work.

Whether we "should" or not is a matter I leave to those better attuned. That they don't work is a matter of (in my case) actual experience. Many have told me that hubs are the spawn of Satan and, on my experience with them to date, I have to agree.

That's how I ended up buying the PCMCIA card to provide extra "full up" USB ports which has its own problems, but which I was ultimately able to make work as long as the SDR wasn't plugged into it. I would regard that as a more serious problem than not supporting hubs.

As long as we're still using what is, at core, the parallel port interface, I presume that we will have more restrictions than usual.
