[Eric] This is a known bug as noted and something that we have been
hunting for some time. In the meantime, we do have a workaround in our
latest source that should take care of it (see Bob Tracy's note).

[Eric] This sounds like a bug in the click tuning. We will need to
look into this.

[Eric] This has been SIGNIFICANTLY improved in the most recent alpha
releases on the SVN server. These changes will be reflected in the
v1.6.1 release.

[Eric] Actually, our waterfall uses a gradient between two colors for
our waterfall. And you can set the dynamic range to adjust the
intensity to your liking using the Low and High level controls on the
Setup Form -> Display -> Waterfall section. The color for each pixel is
calculated as follows:

If the signal level for the peak bin represented by the pixel is below
the low signal level, it just uses the low color. Similarly, if the
signal level is above the high threshold, it just uses the high color.
If the signal level is in between the two levels, it uses a gradient
between either the low or high color (whichever is closest) and the mid
color. This is not to say that this could not be improved, but this is
clearly much more than 3 colors.

[Eric] I completely agree that we need some way of calibrating the
transmit display. However, there is not a way that I am aware of to
match varying receive signals (especially weak signals) to max level
output transmit levels.

[Eric] We always appreciate input and especially appreciate your
detailed descriptions of the issues you have been facing. We fully
intend for this to become the best digital mode radio in the world
(among other things). ;)
