Hi Everett, you will need to use both the python script to control the parallel interface to select the band and the DDS frequency. You will need to use the cmdr script to control the jsdr software.
To receive an AM signal you would need to send the following commands using the cmdr script: setRXOn 0 setSampleRate 96000 (or 48000 depending on your soundcard) setOsc 0 setFilter -3000 3000 setMode AM This is assuming that you do now want to offset the received frequency from the DDS frequency to move away from the noise at the 0 Hz IF.
