The USB adapter spun off from a closed-source project. The current USB
software (Sdr1kUsb.dll) contains references to that work and we can't
release the source code.

The good news is that it should not be too hard to replace our
Sdr1kUsb.dll with your own version. You just need to make it
compatible with ours. PowerSDR source code (usb.cs and other files)
will show you what functions you need to implement.

The even better news is that the USB software has been completely
rewritten and will soon be released under a BSD-style license. This
happened because the USB chip used in the original adapter has become
obsolete. FlexRadio has now redesigned the adapter hardware and I have
already tested the new prototype with my new code.

For compatibility with current 1.6 line of PowerSDR (and all previous
versions) we will provide an updated version of Sdr1kUsb.dll that will
work with both old and new adapter hardware. However, I expect the USB
code eventually to be integrated into FlexRadio's new software
architecture thus removing the need for a separate, closed-source
Sdr1kUsb.dll.
