Allen Welcome to the group. Lucky you to aquire such a fine piece of test gear. One of the best resources I used to collect , to help me with learning test setups for spectrum analyzers was to get the free application notes that tektronix and HP (now agilent technoligy division ) used to and probably still produces. There were lots of them from each company that explained theory and real world testing setups for spec an's. It could be possible that some of these may be available on the web now, if you searched. A lot of these dated back into the 60's and 70's but had very valuable info in them. Some of them were listed as an app note on a specific model number of a spectrum analyzer but the info in them was generic and pertained to any brand.
