IMHO the PDP / VAX was one of the finest engineering products to come from 
the US.

No matter how much Microsoft do (and they do a lot of excellent work), there 
was an elegance with the PDP / VAX computers which can never be recaptured.

Anyone who is interested - there are free emulators for the Intel chip - we 
use VAX emulators to maintain old software for customers.
