The TX to RX turnaround times have been reduced with the multi-threaded
RX and TX capabilities put in place to support the full duplex operation
of the F5K. This change also benefited the SDR-1000.

In the current released version there was a single thread that
controlled both the TX and RX. Now there are separate threads that run
concurrently, so the switching time has been reduced.

Eric could provide more insight if needed.

I am confused - are you talking about just reducing the "paddle contact
closure to sidetone generation" time delay of the internal keyer so you
can use your ears normally when using a paddle, or actual
transmit/receive time delay which would help with moderate speed QSK? if
the latter, how did Bob overcome the SDR1000 T/R relay switching lag?
