Ed, Yes, a wide-screen monitor will work with XP, PROVIDED your video adapter supports a wide-screen format. I bought my wife a wide-screen monitor & had to get her a new video card to support the wide-screen format.
Personally, I use 2 normal-width 19" monitors for my PowerSDR operation. PowerSDR is on one monitor & my logging software is on the other.
