A thermostatic fan controller. Look at the one by Paul, W1GHZ. It is easy to add to a SDR1K. Reverse the high temp LED so it is on the back of the PCB and mount it to the left of the fan on the inside. http://www.w1ghz.org/small_proj/small_proj.htm

I expected a really significant noise reduction, but didn't think the result was THAT great. But the mod certainly was super easy.
