Thanks for the info, John.

To add my $0.02 - I use the high-power versions of the DEMI 144, 222, 432
XVTRs to drive a matching set of Lunar-Link amps, which have about the
lowest drive requirements of the 2-hole GG triode amps. My L-L's are set
up for about 2850V B+, key-down, and require approx 38, 42, and 46 watts,
respectively, to achieve legal limit (they all have 3CPX800A7's, hence the
higher B+ and lower drive). I drive the XVTRs with my 1W SDR-1000, and
it's a real pleasure to be able to drive the big amps directly from the
XVTRs - much less complexity or propensity to fail.

Of course, also being in favor of a one-box IF solution for everything
from DC to daylight :-) , having 50W PAs on the internal XVTR plus
bypasses on the XVTR board to go around the XVTR PA's would be a charm for
directly driving uWave XVTRs as well (as would be an option to bypass, or
completely eliminate from the circuit for good, any internal XVTR RX
preamps).

No need to reply to this one - just add it to the wish pile :-)

Apparently, my RX2 is waiting for me at the post office. Looks like I
have yet another project on my hands!
