Late 70's - ICOM IC-211 2m all-mode. Counterweighted tuning knob with
optical interrupter tuning and a mechanical "band brake" for knob tension.
Turn it slowly, and it tunes at the selected tuning speed rate. Spin the
knob fast and the band brake releases, the tuning rate increases to
maximum for the selected mode, and the counterweighted free-wheeling knob
sends the rig rapidly towards the other end of the 4 MHz-wide 2m band.
For the time, it was rather cool.
