Tim:

I found the block diagram "Flex5000_FDX_Architecture.pdf" but it  
doesn't have enough detail to show how the RF path is really switched.  
Is there an additional, more detailed, block diagram available? (The  
one in the manual is the same as the PDF file on the download page.)

You know, a schematic would be even better. Even Icom, Kenwood, and  
Yaesu provide schematics for their radios.

For that matter, if it is true that the tuner cannot be placed in the  
RX path, I am disappointed. On higher bands a good antenna match means  
better system noise figure.
