Stan,
Generally you do not make VAC your default sound device. Normally you
want the computer and radio separated, just be aware that your computer
default sounds will go out over the air when in the digital mode. Also
if you use Skype, the mic audio from the computer sound will go out
over digital modes..
Personally I keep the computer sounds on separate speakers from the
radio speakers. If you want to combine them, you can use some computer
speakers that have two inputs.

I had a heck of a time setting up VAC and vCOM but it was my
ignorance. I did not and still do not understand the concept. But at
some point I set the VAC as the default and it seemed to solve some of
my problems.
Now that I have it working and understand just a little bit more I
will go back and try what you have. If you can do it I should be able to.
I don't think Tim or anyone told me to make VAC the default, I just
did it and it worked.
Thanks,
Stan

Stan,
Why do you need to have VAC as the default sound device? I have Ham
Radio
Deluxe, DM780,MixW, & a couple of other 3rd party programs setup with
VAC
but still have the PC onboard sound device set to the default.
It may just be a configuration problem.

Hi,
I have my VAC set as the computer default sound. I now of course do
not hear
the sounds from the computer. Warning tones etc. Do you know of a way
to get
the computer sounds back into the computer speakers and keep the default
audio on the VAC? I tried the VAC repeater and it worked but seemed
to mess
up the system somehow. I don't remember what it did offhand but I
stopped
using it. I have a bunch of sound cards and wonder if I could utilize
one of
them somehow.
I am groping for ideas before I try something.
Thanks
Stan
