Ruben,

There is a good article in the Flexradio Knowledge Base at:

http://kc.flex-radio.com/KnowledgebaseArticle50179.aspx?Keywords=Firewire+cards

I use the Beldin Expresscard in a Dell XPS M1730 running XP professional and it works well with a 3 meter Firewire cable. But there are a lot of other reasons for "hiccups" as well, so explore setting before you buy a new card. For example, try the Safe Modes, check DPCs, etc. This is a problem that is correctable, but sometimes it takes a little time to find the specific cause. Good luck with it.

My laptop is new and has express card.

Any advice on express cards?

What is killing the Firewire is probably the Fast Ethernet controller.

A PCMCIA card should do the trick. I have only used ExpressCards. Others may be able to recommend a PCMCIA card.

I think that Jim is in the right.
The problem is that my firewire controller is sharing its IRQ with other devices. Have a look at the attached image.
I think i must buy a PCMCIA firewire card to solve this.
I want use my Toshiba laptop with it becouse we want use the flexradio in our next dx-pedition.

What do you think?

Any advice in a good pcmcia firewire card?
