Lots of old memories! Built my first computer (the Mark 8 - 8008 based) from plans in Radio Electronics magazine in 1975. Then upgraded to a TDL Z80 board with 16K (!) of memory. Loaded my first basic using a homemade tape paper tape reader. Terminal was a kit built Lear Sigler ADM-3. Whet through MITS Altair and IMSAI boxes. Sold Alpha Microsystems stuff for a few years before PCs took over the world. First hard drive was 10 MB CDC Hawk that weighed about 200 pounds. I still have an uncased platter from one of the disk packs hanging on my office wall. It impresses the kids I work with.
Thinking about getting a Flex Radio and have been reading the mail for a couple of weeks.
