Don, I have been using a SIIG PCI-E card in an Asus motherboard without any problems. SIIG PCI-e FireWire Card NN-E20112-S2. (http://www.siig.com/ViewProduct.aspx?pn=NN-E20112-S2)
I would stay away from combo 400/800 cards and Firewire card that has other interfaces, like USB on them too. Get a dedicated 1349a host controller. -Tim -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Don Baughman Sent: Saturday, September 26, 2009 11:47 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [Flexradio] Has anyone been successful using a PCI Express card for 1394 interface? I have had no problems using a PCI-to-1394 adapter card in several PC's when using both a 3K and 5K but I just bought another computer that uses PCI Express cards. Has anyone been successful with this approach? Any recommendations for compatible boards/chipsets or those to avoid? Thanks, Don K7MX _______________________________________________ FlexRadio Systems Mailing List [email protected] http://mail.flex-radio.biz/mailman/listinfo/flexradio_flex-radio.biz Archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/flexradio%40flex-radio.biz/ Knowledge Base: http://kc.flex-radio.com/ Homepage: http://www.flex-radio.com/ Message delivered to [email protected] _______________________________________________ FlexRadio Systems Mailing List [email protected] http://mail.flex-radio.biz/mailman/listinfo/flexradio_flex-radio.biz Archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/flexradio%40flex-radio.biz/ Knowledge Base: http://kc.flex-radio.com/ Homepage: http://www.flex-radio.com/ Message delivered to [email protected]
