I'm trying that out now. It seems with as much metering and display as
we have with Power SDR there should be an indicator that would help with
these settings.

I appreciate all the comments on this issue. I hear the noise whether NR is selected or not. (I could understand some modification to the audio when ANF is selected. I do not have it selected now.)

Currently my audio tab shows the settings of 192000 sample rate, and 2048 buffer size.

This may be obvious, but reduce all your audio levels from 100 down to say
70 - I had the same crackle that was annoying as hell. Reduced my levels
down from 100 -, no more crackle! The other thing possibly increase the
buffers?

Subject: [Flexradio] Noise problem

Dudley,

I'm getting a crackle noise along with the audio from my radio. It
seems to run with the level of the audio and is particularly noticeable
with signals that are otherwise clear.

At first I thought it was local interference or maybe related to the
powered speakers. But it is present with headphones as well as
speakers. It doesn't appear to be from local RF interference, either.

It's a little elusive to try to describe. Trying to listen to strong
signals on sideband does become fatiguing with the high pitched crackle.
