Ron, I've seen exactly the same thing with my FLEX-5000A since I first installed it a few months ago. I suspect a VAC setup problem but haven't had time to thoroughly investigate.
Like yours, my PSDR runs properly and can be controlled from the remote machine if it's started before the remote connection. But I can't start it remotely. The splash screen appears but stops with the progress bar about 1/4" along saying Initializing Hardware and after a few seconds displays "Error communicating with the radio ..." I'm running PSDR 1.18.3 or 1.18.4, Win7 Pro 64bit.
