Arthur,

Your method will work. However, since it transfers EVERYTHING, including
those settings which should not be transferred, you will have to set up each
of your database files separately any time you upgrade PowerSDR to a new
version.

A better solution is to create a database for each different digital mode
program as well as a database for operating other modes (CW,SSB, etc.), all
stored in the same directory but with different names. For example --
database_nondigital.xml, database_fldigi.xml, database_mixw.xml, etc. Then
use the SDRDataTransfer utility to copy your settings into the working
database. This way, you only have to create 1 new database when you change
PowerSDR versions. SDRDataTransfer will only transfer your custom settings,
leaving the settings specific to a particular radio and/or software version
intact.

SDRDataTransfer is free & is available for download from my website.

DDUtil manages multiple serial ports, but if you have other settings that
vary between digital-mode programs, such as filter or TX Profile settings,
they will still be the same for all digital-mode programs.

There is a new feature coming with the release of PowerSDR v2.0 (It is
available now in the PB-PAL test version.) that will allow you to specify
which database to use with a command-line parameter. This means that all
you will have to do is create different shortcuts to PowerSDR for each
digital-mode program.
