The PA transistors and associated components are very stout. The max
temperature, while important is not as important as how quickly it cools down
after TX. I suspect that you have a fairly decent break during RX if your TX
times are long enough to get it up to 185F that it cools off a bit. It you do
not see a god temperature drop after TX, then one of the two fans may not be
operating at an optimal level.

The FLEX-3000 will take a 1 hour key down at full power, but if you get much
over 195F for a prolonged amount of time make sure you are taking breaks to
allow for an adequate cool down cycle.

Subject: [Flexradio] Flex 3000 upper temperature limit?

I read the numbers somewhere, but can't find them here, or in the manual.
What is the upper temperature limit we should avoid on Flex 3000 rigs? I can
get mine up to 185 degrees F (displayed using CTRL-SHIFT-I command) with
digital transmit pretty easily. Everything seems fine, but the cooling fans
are certainly spinning!
