Dave,
You might want to go to the Mixer menu and lower the mixer level for the
Mic. This might bring your mic level under control.

I am using them quite successfully. The only problem is that the mic
inputs in the front panel RJ-45 are VERY sensitive to RFI, so be sure
you choke the heck out of the connecting cable using snap-on
ferrites. I use a mic gain of 0, and even that seems sometimes too
high.
