That is a good point. The SSBs I use are in VOX mode right now since I don’t have an amp to drive high power which would require RX/TX switching and dedicated DC power, so the power is on all the time. Fortunately I have not had any problems. Keeping the fingers crossed.

I got tired of replacing the switching transistor inside my FT-847 after the few times the center conductor of the coax accidentally got shorted to ground.
