I have posted the following on the FLEX-1500 Forum page, but am coping you
FLEXERS here as well in hoping for a faster solution to my problems. I hope
I am not breaking protocol...

Here's my situation:

I have a brand new FLEX-1500 which arrived yesterday.

I have it connected to my desktop Dell Computer, a Dimension C521, running
Windows XP-PRO.
Following the handouts for XP computers, I went to SetUp\Audio, and made MME
the driver, And FLEX-1500 for the Input and Output selections. I used
Unsupported Card selection, since I didn't recognize any other options.
I have the Buffer Size set at 256.

Using this SetUp I can SEE and HEAR stations sending CW, but I can not send
ANY CW at all. After downloading and installing ASIO4ALL v.2,, and setting
the ASIO buffer size to 256 bytes (and tried EVERY OTHER SETTING CHOICE) ,
and I even set the FLEX-1500 Transmit Transition Blanking to 10 ms., as
suggested by Gerald Youngblood, all to no avail.

Now, if I set the driver, instead, to ASIO, (the Input and Output go to
ASIO4ALL V.2 all on their own), I CANNOT SEE or HEAR any stations--AT ALL!!!
And no CW OUTPUT AT ALL either, except for loud clicking sounds in the
FLEX-1500, and SOME CW tones only somewhat related to what my paddles are
sending. The audio now no longer comes out of my little amplified speakers
which are connected to the PHONES jack, but now comes out of my computer
speakers instead!

To say I am confused and frustrated hardly covers my feelings. Are there
just some boxes I haven't checked yet, or some other settings I need to
make? I want to have a contact with my new rig, but nothing so far.

I have tried to be complete here, but this whole system is very new to me, a
total SDR newbie, so I will be most happy to go to great lengths to get this
rig up and running. Help, please?

TIA, and 73,

Carter
