I doubt that Linux would be more efficient that windows. Linux does
benefit by having less code bloat but in other areas it doesn't do much
better than the Windows OS. I think people bowl for linux because most
of the software is free, configurable and it grows away from commercial
hands, but that is becoming less so these days.
Also try to imagine the questions flex would have to field when people
try to set up SDR on the linux boxes. This would become a linux how to
forum.
