First and simplest is a 'Y' cable that plugs into the radio and then connects to the speakers and the line-in on your computer. If you want to go a little more elegant you can use the line-out on the Flexwire connector (DB9 on the back of the radio) to connect to the computer's line-in. But since most of these programs are running on the same computer that we are using to run PowerSDR, it seems silly to send the digitized signal that is already inside the computer out to an analog connector just so we can run it back into the computer in order to turn it back into a digital signal again. To avoid that we use Virtual Audio Cables (VAC). VAC accepts the digital output of one program, PowerSDR in this case, and sends it to the input of another program, e.g. fldigi. To fldigi the VAC virtual cable looks and acts like a sound-card. I spent some time writing all this up on FlexRadioWiki.com. I recommend you go read the section Overview of the PowerSDR System and Supporting Programs<http://FlexRadioWiki.com/index.php?OverviewSDRsys>to see what I am talking about. After that, if you still have questions, I (and others) will be happy to answer them. -- Brian Lloyd, WB6RQN/J79BPL 3191 Western Dr. Cameron Park, CA 95682 [email protected] +1.767.617.1365 (Dominica) +1.931.492.6776 (USA) (+1.931.4.WB6RQN) _______________________________________________ FlexRadio Systems Mailing List [email protected] http://mail.flex-radio.biz/mailman/listinfo/flexradio_flex-radio.biz Archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/flexradio%40flex-radio.biz/ Knowledge Base: http://kc.flexradio.com/ Homepage: http://www.flexradio.com/
