I solved my issue using a tuned to length 300-ohm ladder line instead of 450-ohm. But my reactance issues involved a multi-band dipole.
Likewise my antenna analyzer showed a good SWR at low power, but as my TX power peaked over 50 watts I suppose enough "reactive voltage" was present to cause the problem. -----Original Message----- From: Jim Jannuzzo [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Thursday, February 17, 2011 2:45 PM To: Drax Felton; [email protected] Subject: Re: [Flexradio] ATU Behavior Drax, Interesting thought- the reactance part of complex impedance. SWR on this antenna is between 1.4 and 2, but the reactance varies between 22 pF and 53 pF farads. I don’t recall any comparative norms on reactance- any ideas?
