Give it a try, you may be pleasantly surprised. As for portable or emergency
ops, you should consider that, too - just in case.

When I bought my F5K, I set it up with a rather largish HP laptop running XP
Media edition. I figured that way if I needed to, I could take it in the
field as a portable/emergency station. The F5K has the second RX and the
ATU, so with the F5K, the computer and my go-kit of antenna parts, I can set
up wherever I have a 12 volt battery, and I have several of those, too,
along with a small genset the puts out both 120 VAC and 12 VDC. It's light
enough so even at age 72, I can hump it into the truck, along with a couple
of 6 gallon cans of gasoline. If the laptop flakes out, I also have set up
an old Acer 3634 running XP in which I installed a plug in Firewire port
PCMCIA card. That computer runs PSDR and the F5K just fine. That's the
backup laptop for field work. Everything runs off of 12 volts or 120,
whichever I can locate.
