As a practice, I never disable UAC once I have started installing applications;
it is something I do immediately after installing the operating system. I have
seen instances where once you install an application with UAC enabled and then
disable it, things starting going wonky. PowerSDR is not one of those
applications, but something else on your computer might fall into that category.

In general, UAC does not keep things from working properly, it is just rather
annoying to answer all of those "are you really sure" questions.

You can disable UAC by simply hitting the start button and typing "UAC" and
clicking on the first search result. Pull the slider all the way to the bottom
to disable it completely.
