I have the same issue with my 5K but with mine its limited to 20m /40m with one antenna. So its some harmonic or multiple and for some reason it gets into the 5K.
I run an acom 2K so enough said about the amount of power. I thought about the position of the 5K but I dont think even having it on the other side of the room would help. I have no issues with my Mark V or Pro II. I tried one ferrite on each end of the firewire cable and no luck. I was going to try more but havent got around to it. 73- W1JCW John From: fmeac...@aol.com Sent: Thursday, September 08, 2011 5:00 PM To: flexradio@flex-radio.biz Subject: [Flexradio] Current Flex 3000 software shuts down when running highpower. I have a 3000 that seems to be unhappy when I am driving my amplifier to more than 400 watts output. The symptom is a frozen computer screen with old data shown in the panadapter. Is it possible that I am lighting up the firewire connection and simply stopping the Flex software on the computer? I am running the latest (as of this date), Flex software in the 3000. SWR back to the Flex is very low because I am using a manual tuner in the shack. I do not get burned by RF when touching anything in the shack I frequently use the same amplifier and antenna configuration at full legal power with an IC7000 and have not had any issues. Any ideas? More ferrite protection maybe at the computer end of the firewire??
