Hi Steve.

Good stuff! I've had my 5000A for almost three years. I have operated it
remotely from all over the country. Enjoyed every minute.
I listened in on an interesting QSO on 75M AM last week. A station on Long
Island, NY, who was operating a Yaesu or Kenwood radio, self righteously
called Flex users appliance operators. He went on to say he could never
operate a radio with no knobs.

Here's to many more years of fun!

Subject: [Flexradio] Three Years of Fun

Just realized I've had the Flex-5000a for three years, and I am still having
fun!

Initially I needed some upgrading having been accustomed to "knocking off
the rough edges" with software to make things work. My first PC for the
Flex-5000a wasn't much good because I ignored the recommendations and
basically did a poor job of preparing for the SDR software and Firewire
needs.

Once I assembled an appropriate setup all was well.

During the time I have had the radio I have lost track of the number of
software updates and added features. Each new arrival has been a treat.

I've had a blast using the radio from Topband to 6m, mostly SSB with a fair
bit of digital.

Have met some of the nicest people in fellow Flex owners and the Flex staff.

Even though the radio really doesn't need it, I egged myself on to whip up a
Rb-Frequency Source with help from a Flex-Radio volunteer.

I've slowly expanded the capabilities of the software running, and my skill
in using the programs.

You can see my two monitor setup at QRZ or my web blog & website.

It has been like having a wonderful self-upgrading radio - and lots of fun!

None of the other radios or gear that I have had have been this much fun!

Kudos to the Flex team and thank you!
