I own a Flex-1500, and I'm curious what PA output device(s) are used in
this radio? Not a peep about this is on the website, or in the QST article.
And judging by the one photo of the PA board I did find, I'll guess it's
one of Mitsubishi RD-series RF MOSFET's.
Which brings me to this:
There's a severe lack of technical data on the hardware, so I'll guess
it's some state secret. Will technical data/schematics be available to
Flex owners some day?
For SDR's, it would seem all the proprietary stuff would be in the
software, yes?
Flex isn't alone on this, Elecraft has also taken this path, as there
appears to be an appalling lack of tech data available for their K3.
