Highly unlikely this is a hardware issue. I am confident you have a os/software configuration issue. It's fixable. If you do not understand the information presented by the Process Monitor then I suggest you employ the services of Neal to help you out. Things such as 1394 Firewire Chipsets and Drivers can cause issues too. Neal and many others of us have seen this before and will be able to help. Neal does this for his day job - I do it as a hobby for friends. And this weekend the wife has me remodeling a bathroom!
