I have a Flex 1500 and have been using this MFJ noise canceller on 160m. It 
works pretty well. There are other designs on the web with better phase 
adjustment.
I use a 40m sloper as the "noise" antenna that is on the oposite corner of the 
block. The antenna on 160m is a folded monopole fed against earth.
Driving the noise canceller by ear on a standard radio is a long learning 
curve. As well as the phase the relative amplitudes of the 2 antennas need to 
be equalised.
However with the panadapter I can see the both signal and the noise and 
adjusting for best S/N is a snip.
