Sure it is obsolete. Obsolete doesn't mean useless. And I own and use lots
of obsolete things. My car is a 1990 and is obsolete. I have multiple
vacuum-tube radios that are obsolete. My airplane was made in 1965 and is
obsolete. And, yes, the SDR-1000 is obsolete which is why Flex manufactures
the 5000, 3000, and 1500, but not the SDR-1000.

The point of my posting is that the Genesis, which they are touting as
state-of-the-art, is essentially a copy of a discontinued radio. If I were
going to build a new transceiver today, I would not base the PA on a 6146A
and then try to convince people it was state-of-the-art.

But that doesn't make your SDR-1000 useless.
