I have recently acquired a new Flex-3000 radio (running SDR v2.2.3) and have been giving it a test drive into a dummy load. All seems well except that the output power reading on the TX meter fluctuates from about 70W to 105W when transmitting CW dots or dashes at 30 wpm and 100% drive. Is this degree of fluctuation normal? Or is it an artefact of the meter design?

I note that there is no significant fluctuation when operating in the TUNE mode or when transmitting an unmodulated AM carrier. I also note that the problem is evident at low and high drive levels so does not seem to be related to RFI.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks and 73, Brian VK3MI
