My memory may be a bit vague, but as I remember, 2 or 3 years ago Microsoft had a really persistent habit of messing up the firewire sped settings. Microsoft kept resetting the speed to 100MBs instead of the needed 400. At the time we just figured that since Apple had invented firewaire, MS had a NIH (not invented here) complex andwas jut unable to test their changes. I am still running XP (no reason to change), and I still apply only selected updates once a year. The radio PC is only used for radio use and I don't have problems.
