Yes, but you have forgotten the concrete block on top to dampen various harmonics. I listened to a thread on the "greenkeys" reflector and then put a cement block on top of my model 14 typing reperf. I sent photos of this idea and I then sat back to see how many would comment that they didn't see much difference in performance! I'll bet there are a lot more scratches on old teletype machines than there used to be. And don't forget that knob on my 5000A front panel. I can attest that it has made all the difference in the world as far as "dirty rotten QRM" is concerned. Gerald long ago explained the design of the 3000 box to me: a block sits on it comfortably!
