Just had a major problem with the ATU myself on a brand new 5000A. Could only
tune a few band, and SWR went up, not down. Turned out that the ATU model was
not discovered. The local vendor asked me to do a HW discover on the system,
and reset the database, and I can now tune all bands, except 60 and 160 meter,
which my antenna does not support (I have a Butternut HFV6), even 12, 17 and 6
m meter without the kits for these frequencies. Most of the time SWR is close
to 1. Check the HW information and see if the ATU model is listed, if not
rescan HW and reset the database. I suppose that if the model is listed you
might try a reset of the database, but I am a novice, so I should be careful
giving too many advices.
